What Makes Us Special
"We see the child, every child, as a gifted child for whom there has to be a gifted teacher."
-Loris Malaguzzi, Founder of the Municipal Preschools of Reggio Emilia

At Ochoa, we are a community school inspired by the social constructivist approach to teaching and learning. We are committed to creating a learning culture that values caring relationships, inquiry and innovation, creativity and a democratic way of life.

Collaboration and respect are cornerstones of the Ochoa community, which brings together students, parents, teachers, staff and the wider school community.

Beyond the traditional academics, children at Ochoa learn by being active in their community. Projects include a garden, a chicken coop, recycling and initiatives to help the hungry. Students also participate in workshop time, which focuses on creativity and expanding imagination.
